Psychological Testing and ADHD Support

International Considerations: Access to Medication Management and Specialty Care may vary by location, country or region. For members located outside the U.S., please contact your Care Navigator for support.

Finding clarity around neurodivergence or complex mental health needs can be a long and sometimes frustrating journey. While Spring Health does not currently offer formal psychological or neuropsychological testing for adults, we’re here to support you in finding the right care.

Diagnostic Support Pathways

If you’re seeking support for ADHD or similar neurodivergent conditions, there are several ways to get started through Spring Health:

  • Clinical Interviews: Many Spring Health providers can assess and diagnose ADHD through a comprehensive clinical interview and a review of your personal and medical history. While this is not formal "testing," it can result in a clinical diagnosis and an actionable treatment plan.
  • Specialized Providers: You can book sessions with Medication Managers or Therapists who specialize in neurodiversity, executive functioning, and sensory processing.
  • Referral Care Navigation: If formal neuropsychological testing is required, our Referral Care Navigation team can help you find an off-platform provider who is local and in-network with your insurance.

Note on Sponsored Sessions: Appointments with off-platform providers found through Referral Care Navigation cannot be counted toward your organization-sponsored Spring Health sessions. However, the referral service itself is provided at no additional cost.

Medication Management and Controlled Substances

It is important to understand our prescribing policies regarding ADHD medications to ensure your expectations align with our clinical guidelines:

  • Non-Controlled Substances: Spring Health Medication Managers can prescribe a variety of non-controlled medications to help manage symptoms.
  • Controlled Substances: In accordance with federal and state regulations, Spring Health providers do not prescribe controlled substances (such as certain stimulants like Adderall or Ritalin).
  • Recommendations: If a controlled substance is clinically indicated, your Medication Manager can write a recommendation that you can take to your primary care physician or another provider in your health plan.
