To receive care through Spring Health, you and any participants must be physically located in a state or jurisdiction where your provider is licensed to practice at the time of the session. Learn more.
Whether your child is navigating developmental milestones, managing school-related stress, or seeking a safe space to talk, finding a provider who specializes in youth care is a vital step in their growth. To help your child get started with Spring Health, follow these steps to set up their account, review age-based care options, and book their first session.
Age-Based Service Guidelines
To ensure clinical safety and regulatory compliance, Spring Health structures its care offerings by age bracket. Please review the table below to see what services are available for your child:
Age Group |
Available Services |
Important Requirements |
| 0–5 Years | Care Navigation Only | No individual therapy is available for this age range. A Care Navigator will provide parental guidance and external resources. |
| 6–12 Years | Individual Therapy / Coaching | A parent or legal guardian must attend the initial intake session. |
| 13–17 Years | Individual Therapy / Coaching | State laws apply. Scheduling and consent rules vary by location. |
Step 1: Complete the Account Setup
Before booking an appointment, you must create and configure your child's profile within your family settings.
- COPPA Consent Requirement: For all children under the age of 13, you will be prompted to read and acknowledge a COPPA (Children's Online Privacy Protection Act) notice during setup. This digital signature is legally required to establish their account.
- Emergency Contact Mandatory Field: All minor accounts require a designated emergency contact name and phone number. Please have this information ready, as account creation cannot be finalized without it.
Step 2: Access Your Child's Profile
When scheduling appointments for your child, always ensure you are logged into their specific account. This filters provider recommendations and availability to match your child’s age group. You can access your child’s account in two ways:
- Switching Profiles: While logged into your own adult account, navigate to Account Settings ➔ Family ➔ select View Account next to your child’s name.
- Direct Login: Log in directly at care.springhealth.com using the unique email and password combination you created for them.
Step 3: Filter and Match with a Provider
Once you are inside your child's profile, navigate to the Appointments or Services tab and select Find new care. The search engine will automatically restrict results to clinicians who specialize in your child’s exact age range.
You can further narrow your search using these filters:
- Clinical Specialties: Look for targeted expertise in areas like ADHD, youth anxiety, behavioral changes, LGBTQ+ identity affirmation, or trauma.
- Identity & Background: Filter by Gender, Ethnicity, or Language to find a provider who resonates with your family's background.
- Logistics: Filter by Availability (such as evenings or weekends) and Location (Virtual or In-person).
Step 4: Schedule the Appointment
Once you find a provider who feels like a good match:
- Select the provider to view their full bio, credentials, and clinical approach.
- Choose their soonest available appointment or select Show more times to find a slot that fits your family's schedule.
- Confirm the booking. A confirmation email will be sent to the address associated with both your account and your child's account.
State Scheduling & Consent Rules for Teens (Ages 13–17): Scheduling and consent requirements vary significantly by state law. In certain jurisdictions, your teenager may have the legal right to book appointments and consent to their own mental health treatment independently through the platform.
