Understanding Provider Availability and Scheduling

Finding a provider who feels like the right fit is important — and it can be frustrating if their schedule doesn’t align with yours or no openings appear available. While most members find it easy to locate and schedule with a provider, there are several ways to navigate limited availability or find a high-quality alternative that fits your lifestyle.

What to Know

  • Standard 24-Hour Scheduling Window: To give our providers adequate time to clinically prepare for your session, appointments via your self-service dashboard typically must be booked more than 24 hours in advance. We have select providers within our network who maintain highly flexible, near-term schedules capable of accepting appointments on very short notice. Although this is not a guarantee, our Care Team is happy to see if this is an option for you.
  • Calendar Availability: If a provider does not show any available dates or times, their calendar is likely full. Availability updates regularly, so new openings may appear as their schedules change.

What to Do if a Provider has No Availability

Utilize Your Personalized Recommendations

Our platform uses your initial assessment responses to recommend providers who directly align with your background, clinical goals, and preferences.

  • Log into your Spring Health account, select + Get care to see your recommendations.
  • These alternative providers are carefully matched to your profile and frequently have open, near-term appointment slots.
Expand Your Search Filters

Widening your search criteria often reveals excellent clinicians you may have initially missed due to strict parameters.

  • Broaden your geographic filters: Try removing narrow specializations to view a wider list of available licensed providers across your entire state.
  • Sort by availability: Toggle your dashboard filters to prioritize displaying providers who have immediate openings that align with your upcoming weekly schedule.

Still Need Assistance?

If you’re hoping to see a specific provider — such as someone you’ve successfully worked with before or someone with a highly niche background — our team is here to assist. Upon request, Care Support can reach out to a provider directly to confirm if any additional hours or accommodations can be made for you.

If your preferred provider remains unavailable, we can suggest 2–3 comparable providers who share similar expertise and have current availability.
