How Spring Health Protects Your Privacy with Recordings

Please note: This feature is only available only for U.S.-based adults participating in adult therapy, coaching, or medication management.

Spring Health utilizes industry-leading security and legal safeguards to ensure that if you choose to use session recording, your data remains private, secure, and under your control.

Industry-Leading Security & Certifications

Spring Health utilizes rigorous safeguards to ensure your data remains private and secure.

  • 100% HIPAA Compliant: Our tool meets all federal standards for protecting health information.
  • Gold-Standard Security: We adhere to the highest security frameworks, including SOC2 and HiTrust certification.
  • Full Encryption: All session data is encrypted both in transit and at rest, ensuring robust protection against unauthorized access.

This means your audio and transcripts are treated with the same high level of security as your medical records and personal health information.

Immediate Audio Deletion

To ensure your privacy, we use a strict "transcribe and delete" protocol:

  • Temporary Capture: Audio is recorded solely to create the clinical transcript. No video is ever recorded.
  • Instant Permanent Deletion: As soon as the transcript is generated, the raw audio file is immediately deleted from our systems. We do not keep "tapes" of your sessions.

Controlled & Limited Access

Access to session transcripts is strictly governed by clinical need:

  • Time-Bound Access: Your provider (and authorized members of the care team) can access the raw transcript for only 72 hours to assist with care planning and documentation. After this window, the raw transcript is deleted.
  • No Member Access: To maintain clinical integrity, transcripts are available to the provider team only; they are not accessible via the member dashboard.
  • Strict Boundaries: Transcripts are never shared with your employer and are not released for legal purposes.

De-identification for Quality Assurance

If a transcript is retained for quality assurance or training purposes, it undergoes a strict de-identification process. All Personally Identifiable Information (PII) and Protected Health Information (PHI) is removed to ensure your anonymity while still allowing us to maintain the highest standards of clinical care across our platform.

Full Transparency

We encourage you to review our updated Terms of Service and Privacy Policy for full details on our data protection practices.
