International Considerations: Billing and payment processes may vary by location, country or region. For members located outside the U.S., please contact your Care Navigator for next steps.
Understanding how your sessions are covered shouldn’t feel confusing. Spring Health is designed to make your benefits clear — whether your care is fully sponsored by your organization, covered by insurance or self-pay, and depending on your location and benefits setup.
You can view your personalized coverage details directly in your Spring Health account.
How to View Your Cost Estimate
- Log into your account and navigate directly to your Billing and Payments page.
- Select the Costs and Coverage tab, where you can view the details of your next session cost alongside your active health plan details.
If you do not see a Costs and Coverage tab, our system is missing the necessary health insurance details to run the estimate. You can instantly unlock it using one of two methods:
- Option A: Scroll to the Wallet tab within the Billing and Payments page, click Add Insurance, and enter your details.
- Option B: Navigate to your Membership page, select Request a cost estimate, and follow the automated prompts.
What you’ll need handy: Your current insurance carrier/plan name, Group ID, and Member ID numbers. Once saved, your Costs and Coverage tab should become visible where you can view your coverage and estimated out-of-pocket expenses.
Things to Know
While we strive for the highest accuracy, please keep these points in mind:
Estimates Are Not Guarantees: Cost estimates are populated using real-time information fed directly from your health insurance provider, but they are not a guarantee of final cost.
Claim Adjustments: Your final out-of-pocket expense may vary depending on the specific clinical services rendered during your session and how the medical claims are officially processed by your insurance carrier.
Transitioning After Sponsored Care: Once all of your available employer-sponsored sessions are used up, Spring Health will automatically route eligible clinical services (such as therapy or medication management) to your insurance plan on file.
Coaching and Insurance: Coaching sessions are not billed to health insurance. If your company-sponsored coaching sessions are exhausted, any additional coaching sessions will be billed to you as a self-pay expense.
Account Balances and Booking Restrictions: To keep your account in good standing, please stay mindful of any unpaid balances. If you have an outstanding account balance, do not have active insurance on file, and have completely exhausted your employer-sponsored sessions, the system will temporarily pause your scheduling access. You will be unable to book new appointments until the balance is resolved.
Manual Approvals: If the Costs and Coverage tab fails to appear even after you update your insurance, you may belong to a unique health plan that requires manual calculation. Simply click Request a cost estimate when prompted, and our team will follow up.
Coordination of Benefits: Multiple Insurance Plans
If you are covered under more than one health insurance policy (for example, a primary plan through your own employer and a secondary plan through a spouse's employer), please keep the following in mind:
Single Plan Processing: The Spring Health platform can currently only store, track, and automatically bill one primary insurance plan at a time on your billing profile.
Secondary Claims: We are unable to automatically split-bill or send secondary claims to a backup insurance provider. To coordinate coverage using both plans, you will need to list your primary policy on your Spring Health account. Once your session is complete and the primary claim is processed, you can request a billing invoice (Superbill) and submit it independently to your secondary insurance provider for potential reimbursement.
You can view our Managing Primary and Secondary Insurance page for step-by-step guidance on navigating dual coverage.
