Preparing for Your First Virtual Session

We want your virtual care experience to be as calm and stress-free as possible. Taking a few moments to set up your space and test your technology ensures that when your session begins, you can focus entirely on your conversation with your provider.

Step 1: Joining Your Session

You can access your virtual room in two simple ways:

  • Member Portal: Log in to your Spring Health account, locate your scheduled appointment, and click Join Appointment.
  • Email Link: Open your booking confirmation or reminder email and click the unique appointment link provided.

Important: Always use the link specific to today's appointment. Links from past sessions will not work for new appointments.

Step 2: Testing Your Tech (The Preview Room)

Before you officially enter the session, you will arrive in a Preview Room. This is a private space where your provider cannot see or hear you yet. Use this time to ensure you’re comfortable:

  • Microphone: Click the mic icon and speak. If the volume bar moves, you’re good to go!
  • Speaker: Click the speaker icon to play a test sound. If you hear it, your audio is set.
  • Camera: If you see yourself in the preview tile, your video is working.
  • Adjustments: Use the dropdown arrows next to each icon if you need to switch to a different headset or webcam.

Step 3: Allowing Browser Permissions

To speak and be seen, your web browser needs your "permission" to use your hardware. When you click your appointment link, look for a pop-up in the top corner of your screen.

How to Enable Permissions by Browser:

Once everything is set, click to join the meeting and wait for your provider to admit you.

Quick Tips for a Great Session

  • Find a Private Space: Ensure you are in a quiet area where you feel comfortable speaking freely.
  • Check Your Connection: If possible, sit near your Wi-Fi router or use a wired connection for the best video quality.
  • Lighting: Try to have a light source in front of you (like a window or lamp) rather than behind you so your provider can see your face clearly.

Need Help?

If you don't see the permission prompts or your camera isn't appearing, don't worry. Often, simply refreshing your browser page will trigger the permission pop-up again.
