Prescribing Policies and Medication Support

Please note: Prescribing practices and availability of medication management vary by country, and may not be included in your specific benefit plan. Please review your plan details in your account dashboard for more information. Members located outside the U.S. should reach out to their Care Navigator for location-specific support.

Our Medication Managers can prescribe a wide range of commonly used medications to address various mental health concerns, including depression, anxiety, insomnia, and more.

Your treatment plan is highly personalized. Medications are carefully selected based on your unique medical history, symptoms, and the goals you discuss with your provider.

Commonly Prescribed Medications

Spring Health providers specialize in prescribing non-controlled medications. Categories of medications your provider may discuss with you include:

  • Antidepressants: Commonly used to treat depression and various anxiety disorders by helping to balance chemicals in the brain.
  • Anti-Anxiety Medications: Non-habit-forming options designed to manage symptoms of generalized anxiety or panic without the risks associated with controlled substances.
  • Mood Stabilizers: Medications primarily used to manage the symptoms of bipolar disorder and help level out significant shifts in mood.
  • Non-Stimulant ADHD Medications: Targeted treatments for focus and executive functioning that offer a non-controlled alternative to traditional stimulants.
  • Sleep Aids: Non-controlled options specifically selected to help improve sleep hygiene and quality without causing physical dependency.

Controlled Substances

In accordance with federal and state regulations and our clinical safety guidelines, Spring Health providers do not prescribe controlled substances. This includes certain stimulants, benzodiazepines, and other medications classified as controlled substances.

If a controlled substance is clinically indicated for your care, we offer the following support:

  • Clinical Recommendations: Your Medication Manager can provide a formal clinical recommendation for you to share with your primary care physician or another provider within your health plan.
  • Referral Care Navigation: Our team can help you find a local, in-network provider who can assist with these specific prescriptions.
    • While our referral service is provided at no additional cost, appointments with off-platform providers do not count toward your organization-sponsored Spring Health sessions.
